A longtime studio musician, composer, musical director and former keyboardist for Barry White, Stan Berger's album breakthrough came with his debut CD, "Kool Shoes" released in March of 2010. Consisting of 13 original compositions, the superb acoustic stylings, brilliant jazz improvisations and danceable jazz grooves prove to endure for many years to come. A musician from an early age, he was born in Mandan, North Dakota, moved to California and started on the accordian at the age of 7. His father had a great influence on his career. "My father was a classical music connosieur and so I grew up listening to the classics. A few of the works that come to mind are: Ravel's Bolero, Bizet's Carmen, Verdi's Aida, and many other great works. I studied the classics but at the same time established jazz roots from learning American and European folk songs, jazz and pop standards. Barry White's music had a profound influence on my style. " Stan went on to study music with the likes of jazz great: Art Van Damme, Christopher Yavelow, and Barney Childs at the University of Redlands and Claremont Graduate University. He received his doctorate degree in music composition from CGU in 1994.
