"My father was a classical music connosieur and so I grew up listening to the classics. A few of the works that come to mind are: Ravel's Bolero, Bizet's Carmen, Verdi's Aida, and many other great works. I studied the classics but at the same time established jazz roots from learning American and European folk songs, jazz and pop standards. Barry White's music had a profound influence on my style. " Stan went on to study music with the likes of jazz great: Art Van Damme, Christopher Yavelow, and Barney Childs at the University of Redlands and Claremont Graduate University. He received his doctorate degree in music composition from CGU in 1994.
